About Climate Change and Our Potential of Being Human

Angaangaq Angakkorsuaq is a shaman, traditional healer, storyteller and carrier of the Qilaut (winddrum), whose family belongs to the traditional healers of the Far North from Kalaallit Nunaat, Greenland. In the 1970s he has been an elected politician. He quit his job, because he’s realised that it was not his right place to be. His mother was applauding when he came back home knowing that he would start his real mission now.

He introduces himself as a runner building a bridge from the indigenious world to the western civilization.

On his website ICEWISDOM I read:

The greatest distance in the existence of Man is not from here to there nor from there to here. Nay, the greatest distance in the existence of Man is from his mind to his heart. Unless he conquers that distance he can never learn to soar like an eagle and realize his own immensity within.

While recording our talk he speaks about the wisdom of the ice. She – the ice – has been honored throughout the history of Greenland. Angaangaq reports that climate change is known already since the 1970s. He speaks about his mission and points out that we could make a big difference for life on planet earth if we would start to use our knowledge wisely. Learn more about the wisdom of the ice and a way to reconnect to something bigger.
